Overview
When a child is diagnosed with cancer, everyone in the family is affected. In learning to live with uncertainty, parents must entrust their precious child to medical strangers, and the normal family routine is often replaced with chemotherapy, radiation, endless tests and a frightening new way of life.
Kids 'n Kamp (KNK) activities enable families to begin the healing process, which is vital to the strengthening of loving family ties. Simple family fun is the intent of KNK outings but the results achieved are often much greater. Unconditional friendships and a strong network of support among the families are the side affects of KNK activities, where the pain and dread of cancer are put aside.
