Eleanor Geiger Chairs Quilt Auction
Auction to Benefit Kids 'n Kamp

COLUMBUS, Ohio (Sept. 19, 2002) - The 1st annual Kids ‘N Kamp Quilt Auction will be held on Thursday, October 10th at Ohio Stadium’s Huntington Club. Chaired by Eleanor Geiger, all proceeds will benefit Kids ‘N Kamp.

A preview of the quilts begins at 5:00 p.m. The auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. with Jeff Jeffers of Garth Auction House. Guest auctioneers will include Andy Geiger (OSU), Archie Griffin (OSU), Coach Jim O’Brien, Katrina Owens (WCMH-TV) and Dave Kaelin (WNCI-FM).

The quilts have been donated by several local quilters, including well-known fiber artist Vikki Pignatelli, author of Quilting Curves and a Reynoldsburg resident. Quilts have also been donated by the Quintessential Quilt Guild and Ohio State Fair ribbon winners Judy Sandman, Madeline Hansen and Ruth Pennell. Quilts range in size from small wall hangings to king-size quilts.

The event is sponsored by Beth’s Creative Stitchery, Quilt Beginnings and the Glass Thimble. Tickets are $25 per person, and can be obtained by contacting the Kids ‘N Kamp office at 614-262-2220.

Kids ‘N Kamp is a local independent non-profit organization devoted to the social, educational and emotional needs of children with cancer. Now in its 20th year, Kids ‘N Kamp provides family activities, tutoring, counseling and support opportunities to more than 350 children and their families each year.
